"We do not inherit Earth from our ancestors, we borrow it from our children."
Proverb of the Navajo people
Ridomus, non-profit National Consortium for the Recycling of Air Conditioners, was established in January 2006, by the will of a large group of highly skilled Italian manufacturers of air conditioning systems, attentive to environmental values, always active and on time, in compliance with regulations.
TODAY RIDOMUS COUNTS ABOUT 50 ASSOCIATED COMPANIES WITH SIGNIFICANT MARKET SHARE IN THEIR SPECIFIC BUSINESS AND IT REPRESENTS NOW ONE OF THE LEADING NATIONAL ASSOCIATIONS INVOLVED IN THE MANAGEMENT OF WEEE (WASTE ELECTRICAL AND ELECTRONIC).
From the very beginning, the Consortium has always been careful in combining the provision of an environmentally sustainable service with low costs for producers. For this reason the Consortium shared, from the start, its operating structure with Ecoped, the National Consortium for the recycling of small appliances.
They have decided to create a dedicated consortium for the prerogatives related to this type of equipment. Thanks to the Consortium and through the decision-making bodies of the WEEE Coordination Centre, they have also promoted the application of correction factors, to differentiate the costs for the disposal of air conditioning sytems from those of the refrigerators.
Thanks to this, the manufacturers members of the Consortium have been able to support the actual costs related to the management of the equipment produced and maintain a stable the value of the echo contribution.
